William (Bill) Smith

William L. (Bill) Smith is a retired senior executive with extensive experience in operations and technology roles. He served as the interim CEO of PG&E Corporation and is currently a member of the company’s Board of Directors. Mr. Smith was also the President of AT&T Technology Operations, overseeing global service delivery and assurance with a team of over 100,000 employees. He started his career at BellSouth Corp and held various technology and operational positions, including Chief Technology Officer. Mr. Smith is actively involved in non-profit organizations and graduated from North Carolina State University with honors.

Throughout his career, Mr. Smith played a vital role in driving technological advancements and business operations for major corporations. He remains Chairman of Tillman Networks and now as a board member with Zayo Communications he is helping to lead companies in emerging technology and communications infrastructure. Mr. Smith’s expertise and dedication have been recognized through his involvement in various non-profit organizations, including Dallas CASA, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Georgia and Alabama, and the Atlanta Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
