The original was a big hit. The sequel is equally strong. That’s true of this summer’s blockbusters — and of Zayo’s second data zColo center in downtown Atlanta, announced last fall. With the buildout nearly complete, Zayo will celebrate the grand opening of the new facility on June 22 with a night at the movies for customers and guests.
Previews will include a trailer of the new facility, located at 1150 White Street, literally steps away from Zayo’s first zColo data center in Atlanta. The new, carrier-neutral center will add 74,000 new square feet and 10 megawatts of critical power designed with Tier-4 attributes such as multiple utility substations, power block redundancy and a fully dual power-sourced HVAC system.
Security features include strong perimeter and physical security, a security guard and on-site staff 24/7/365 and biometric access to critical areas. zColo staff provides both smart hands support and remote hands support.
Both Atlanta facilities provide extensive interconnectivity, with connections to multiple providers. Tenants are also able to access Zayo’s fiber, providing connectivity within the Atlanta metro area, across North America, and around the world.
The zColo Atlanta Data Center expansion has been driven by strong customer demand, including commitments from companies in diverse sectors. Atlanta is a key gateway for global business, and has experienced significant growth in technology, telecommunications, media, healthcare and IT. The city is home to the third largest concentration of Fortune 500 companies.
