Zayo to Provide Cloud Connectivity for Cyxtera Data Center Customers

Zayo today announced it will enable Cyxtera data center customers to use CloudLink to connect directly to major cloud service providers. Zayo’s high-performance connectivity solutions will be available in 39 Cyxtera locations, including Albuquerque, Burbank, Chicago, Fort Worth, London, Newark, Phoenix, Irvine, and Vancouver BC.

Cloud computing has become more prevalent as enterprises move data and applications to secure, controlled environments. Many enterprises are choosing to diversify their cloud services by working with multiple cloud providers for a wide range of “as a service” options and to provide resilience. According to the 2018 “State of the Cloud” report from RightScale, enterprises using the public cloud are using 2.7 public clouds on average. As enterprises expand and scale their cloud strategies, high-performance connections to various cloud service providers are increasingly important.

Cyxtera and CloudLink offer enterprises a secure, high-performance direct connection to more than 50 cloud providers. Cxytera’s top-tier data center services combined with Zayo’s CloudLink gives customers a direct connection to these providers without having to utilize the public internet.

CloudLink provides a direct and secure connection to Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Salesforce, Google Cloud Platform and other major cloud providers. The solution includes both shared and dedicated models, multiple transport protocol options including waves, Ethernet, & IP VPN, and speeds between 50M and 100G. Zayo can provide connectivity to multiple cloud service providers via 300 global on-ramps.

“Today’s enterprises need a secure, global platform for mission-critical applications and systems — and secure, high-performance connectivity to their cloud providers,” said Milos Marjanovic, Zayo’s senior director of CloudLink. “We look forward to working with Cyxtera customers to deliver seamless connectivity to the cloud.”

“Customers have different requirements when it comes to hosting workloads in the cloud,” said Mitch Fonseca, Cyxtera’s vice president of Integrated Operations, Data Center Services. “Cyxtera’s data center customers will be able to select CloudLink connectivity options to meet their business needs.”
