Zayo Expands Cloud Infrastructure Capabilities to Toronto and Eastern Canada

Digital transformation is a critical priority for businesses across all major industries, and cloud continues to play a key role in this transformation. Both public and private cloud adoption have increased over the past year, and are a  top priority for enterprises, according to the RightScale 2018 State of the Cloud report. Of those surveyed, 96 percent are using cloud, leveraging almost five clouds in total.

Zayo continues to expand its network to accelerate the cloud capabilities of the world’s leading companies. Adding to its footprint, Zayo Cloud Infrastructure recently completed the deployment, testing, and certification of a new cloud node in Toronto, Canada. The node will enable the full range of Zayo’s Cloud Infrastructure solutions, including compute capacity; blended bandwidth (highly available DIA with route diversity and redundancy); managed route/switch; managed firewall; managed load balancer; SAN storage; and object-based storage.

Additionally, customers will be able to access Zayo’s extensive fiber network, which includes dense metro fiber in Toronto and an approximately 20,000 kilometer long haul fiber across Canada, connecting all major Canadian markets, U.S. network access points and connectivity to Western Europe and beyond.

As one of the North America’s most important innovation hubs, Toronto is home to a dynamic technology ecosystem, driven by early leadership in AI and fintech and a vibrant startup community. Toronto is ranked as Canada’s No. 1 market for tech workers and employers, adding 22,500 tech jobs to its workforce in 2016, according to the annual ranking from real estate consultancy CBRE.

The new cloud infrastructure node is part of Zayo’s expanded capability in Canada. In Montreal, Zayo is building a high-capacity dark fiber ring in the city’s South Shore tech/data center hub. The recent acquisition of Optic Zoo has added 160 kilometers of high-count fiber to Vancouver’s network.

Zayo’s new cloud node in Toronto enables all standard Zayo Cloud Infrastructure capabilities with immediate available capacity. Zayo’s private cloud, public cloud and dedicated hosting, combined with data center colocation and connectivity options, offers an end-to-end infrastructure solution for customers. Learn more here.
