Last week, customers, partners and Zayo employees gathered in Vélizy, France, to celebrate the grand opening of zColo’s new data center. The 55,000 square-foot facility strengthens Zayo’s data center footprint in Paris and Europe and provides direct access to Zayo’s extensive global network.
Located in the Île-de-France region, only about six miles away from Paris, Vélizy represents an area with great potential since it is home to numerous headquarters and has become a hub of innovation and technology. This region is experiencing strong demand for communications infrastructure. The location has easy commuting access with an airport, two highways and public transport options.
The site’s unique location and ability to tether to zColo’s center Paris facility at 19/21 Rue Poissonnière and more than 50 other Parisian datacenters creates unique value for customers. Originally constructed by a military company in the 1970s, the facility is highly secure. “Security is one of our key priorities, and we have an excellent physical facility as the foundation,” said Frédérick Coeuille, Director zColo Europe.
The Vélizy zColo facility, and all of Zayo’s data centers are “carrier neutral,” which means that all operators are welcome and customers can choose the operator(s) that meet their expectations. Zayo offers its fiber bandwidth solutions from this new data center with secure access up to 100G to other data centers over the FLAP (Frankfurt, London, Amsterdam and Paris).
The attendees had the opportunity to have a guided tour of the data center by the European zColo team. If you missed the event and would like to visit our data center, please contact us at +33 (0) 1 49 97 07 40.
