Zayo Now Provides Hybrid Network Connections to Google Cloud with CloudLink

Connectivity to cloud providers is vital for enterprises to ensure reliability and performance. Together with Google Partner Interconnect, Zayo’s CloudLink can bring the Google Cloud Platform to your location.

Cloud computing is experiencing explosive growth and the majority of enterprises are using applications in the cloud. In fact, a study by RightScale found that 96% of the respondents say that they use the cloud1. This trend is fueled by the ease of accessing a variety of sophisticated business applications via the cloud without capital expenditures or hassle.

The use of multiple clouds is increasing as well. Today, enterprises use an average of 4.8 clouds1. This trend will only increase, so enterprises need to select a cloud connectivity solution that works for their business today and can scale with them in the future. An enterprise’s cloud service provider and connectivity provider are both critically important in this dynamic mix.

Zayo today announced it is providing CloudLink to Google Cloud Partner Interconnect customers, enabling them to connect to the Google Cloud Platform from anywhere. Zayo’s CloudLink provides high-performance, direct network connectivity from your location to over 50 cloud providers and hundreds of global cloud on-ramps — facilitating hybrid connections. Customers can choose Zayo’s CloudLink to provide dedicated connectivity from their facility to the nearest Google edge point of presence (PoP). In addition they will also be able to select from a variety of speeds up to 10Gbps.

“Partner Interconnect gives Google Cloud customers even more connectivity choices for hybrid environments,” said John Veizades, product manager, Google Cloud. “Together with Zayo’s CloudLink, we are making it easier for customers to extend their on-prem infrastructure to the Google Cloud Platform.”

“Zayo’s CloudLink provides a range of high-performance bandwidth options, enabling dedicated, secure connectivity to Google Cloud Platform,” said Tyler Coates, Zayo senior vice president.
