Derek Gillespie is responsible for leading the sales and go-to-market functions for Zayo’s Enterprise and Public Sector businesses, with a focus on supporting 7,500+ customers worldwide. He has 25+ years of impactful experience in telecommunications infrastructure sales leadership and operational innovation.
Prior to joining Zayo in 2016, Derek spent three years as the Chief Revenue Officer of Cosentry until the sale of the company to Tierpoint in 2015. His extensive history of producing significant leadership and revenue growth for companies ranges from startups to global Fortune 500 companies including SAVVIS, AT&T, STG, and CAIS Internet.
Derek has proven success in developing and driving sales and service teams in matrix-management environments to surpass organizational goals, reduce attrition, and turn around underperforming regions. In 2020, he was recognized as one of the Top 100 Global Executive Sales Leaders by The Modern Sale and Collective.
Derek attended the United States Naval Academy where he majored in History and Political Science.
