ACCOUNTABILITY/POSITION SUMMARY

The Sales Manager, is accountable for leading and coaching the Mid Market Sales Team in the USA and working with customers as part of both an acquisition and account management based sales strategy with a focus on meeting revenue and margin booking targets for Allstream’s Cloud based voice products. This position is responsible for all sales and marketing (e.g. self-generated webinars, newsletters etc.), related sales activities of this team with a key focus on developing and implementing creative solutions in a competitive environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Mentoring and coaching a team of experienced sales professionals
  • Provide leadership on the strategic, new customer based acquisition and account management sales model
  • Provide support in managing customer expectations and meeting requirements of customers
  • Assisting in the escalation of issues
  • Forecasting and measurement of sales objectives
  • Management of performance deliverables of the sales team including team and individual KPI’s (Key Productivity Indicators) and SLA’s (Service Level Agreements)

SPECIFIC FUNCTIONAL/TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Knowledge and skills of how to sell Cloud Voice products successfully in both a pure acquisition and an account management focused sales models
  • Knowledge and skills of how to manage Cloud Voice sales teams focused on both acquisition and account management sales models
  • Knowledge and skills in value-based, solution sales methodology

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Certification

  • College/University degree or diploma in a business-related field

Experience

  • 5 years successful track record in sales
  • 3 -5 years of sales management experience in a metric focused , performance based environment
  • Strategic new customer acquisition experience
  • Experience in value-based, solution sales methodology
