Senior Vice President Sales & Marketing

Allstream is seeking a dynamic leader to grow its sales. Allstream provides internet and voice services to over 60,000 North American businesses and generates revenues of over $400M.

The Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing will be responsible for setting the strategy for and ensuring the execution of Allstream’s commercial activities including the direct sales organization, inside sales, agency sales and marketing.

Success in this role will be measured by the extent to which overall sales volume can be expanded in particular the sales of Allstream’s target products (Cloud VoIP & Internet) and the extent to which churn can be reduced. Additional measurements will include the expansion of new target customers, customer satisfaction and employee engagement.

The Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing will be responsible to set goals, measure performance, adjust staffing, meet profitability targets and ensure the consistency and effectiveness of the sales process and procedures. The successful candidate will also directly engage with Allstream’s largest customers. As a member of Allstream’s executive team in addition to sales responsibilities this position will also be accountable with the balance of the executive team for Allstream’s overall results including revenue, EBITDA and cash flow.

This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer of Allstream and could be located in Allstream’s Vancouver, WA or Toronto, ON offices.

 

Ideal Capabilities:

  • Relevant sales and marketing experience, including sales leadership
  • Experience in the areas of: direct sales, inside sales, agency sales, marketing
  • Relevant telecommunications experience and knowledge
  • Proven track record of growing and organization sales
  • Demonstrated leadership capability
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively analyze market trends and to develop and implement effective sales strategies and marketing programs
  • Demonstrated success implementing new processes and procedures.
  • Experience in managing a geographically diverse organization
  • Demonstrated Decisiveness
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, plan and manage change
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, including the ability to influence and communicate at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to travel within the US and Canada
