Position Description

The Fiber Inventory Integrity Specialist Intern at Zayo Fiber Solutions (ZFS) is responsible for performing quality assurance checks of services previously delivered by Zayo. An effective Fiber Inventory Integrity Specialist Intern will work closely with the Fiber Engineering and Construction teams and become a strong user of GE Smallworld and Salesforce in order to facilitate the development/maintenance of a sound fiber inventory system.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality assurance checks of finer inventory
  • Validate several data points of documented services
  • Correct the GIS based fiber inventory system and supporting documentation as needed
  • Record services in the fiber inventory system if not documented
  • Follow Zayo standards and processes

Qualifications

  • Undergrad in Engineering, Geography/GIS, Anthropology, Architecture, Construction Management or other fields with surveying / mapping exposure is preferred
  • Process oriented, strong analytical aptitude, superior problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
  • Strong sense of teamwork, positive attitude, and willingness to support others in supporting group objectives
  • High degree of integrity, self-motivated, able to thrive in fast paced environment
  • Proficiency in the MS Office suite of tools. Knowledge of Salesforce.com platform is a plus.
  • Knowledge of GIS-based platforms is a plus.
  • Knowledge or experience in databases a plus
