Position Description

This position is primarily responsible for contributing to the success of the Customer Life Cycle Management team within the Allstream organization, by providing relevant and actionable data that will influence marketing activities as well as the overall strategy of Allstream.  This role will provide support for the strategic and tactical customer lifecycle management of programs focused on customer loyalty and retention of our customers. The Customer Analytics and Insights Specialist will convert business questions into insights and actions.  This will be accomplished through extracting data from existing sources.  The Customer Analytics and Insights Specialist will advise on short and long term business objectives, ensure data accuracy, and synthesize the findings into easily digestible presentations for executives and marketing teams.


  •  Build out customer level margin, customer lifetime value and propensity for churn using predictive analytics
  • Identify key segments / clusters of customers who are profitable – and those who are not – and learn what drives the difference… and how to create opportunities from these learnings
  • Work closely with pricing, product, sales and retention teams to improve their ability to acquire, serve, and retain every customer household while maintaining profitability for our shareholders
  • Investigate root causes of product deficiency and guide product development to address them
  • Create and analysis of reports related to customer segmentation and products to develop strategies to drive sales growth and manage churn;


  • Bachelor’s degree required preferably in a business related or analytical field
  • 3-5 years’ experience
  • Excellent MS-Excel and Powerpoint skills
  • Experience with business analytics tools such as Tableau
  • Demonstrated analytic skills (ROI, profitability, customer segmentations, etc)
  • Must be able to quickly translate data into concise and insightful executive summaries.
  • Proficiency in creating executive level reports
  • Close attention to detail, and ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, on multiple projects
  • Self-motivated, creative and analytical thinker with attention to detail and organization skills
  • Must be comfortable in rapidly changing and sometimes ambiguous work situations
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills and a strong work ethic
  • Project management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload
  • Financial analytical experience is a plus
