ZAYO ENTERPRISE NETWORKS ENHANCES ETHERNET TRANSPORT TO SUPPORT VOICE, VIDEO AND DATA SERVICES

Zayo Enterprise Networks (ZEN), a division of Zayo Group and a provider of fiber-based telecommunications solutions for business, government and education, today announced enhancements to its Metro Ethernet Transport services to enable high quality voice, video and data over a single Ethernet connection.

Zayo’s switched Ethernet network provides scalable and reliable optical transport with flexible bandwidth options—ranging from 5Mbps to 1Gbps—to more efficiently deliver a portfolio of advanced IP based converged voice, video and data communications solutions tailored to fit the needs of enterprise customers. This solution provides an opportunity for customers who are looking to expand and simplify their networks, improve performance and reduce costs.

“We are well positioned to leverage our fiber assets and use Ethernet to deliver our business communications service portfolio,” said Matt Rossi, Director of Product Management & Marketing. “Ethernet’s economic advantage and flexible features make it a simple, reliable and more cost-effective high bandwidth delivery option over other TDM-based services like: Private Line, Frame Relay or ATM.”

“Our Ethernet service allows customers to combine their traffic over a single interface, improving the transmission of sensitive voice and video content while reducing its cost and complexity,” continued Rossi. “The ability to optically deliver managed IP voice, internet connectivity and video over a private data network means that we can utilize Ethernet in a way that few others can.”

ZEN’s fiber-based core infrastructure integrates seamlessly with existing LAN architectures and can support single site, multi-site or fully meshed network configurations. Zayo’s fiber backbone, 24×7 network monitoring and features such as: custom Class of Service (CoS), Quality of Service (QoS) and Virtual LAN (VLAN) tagging, ensure the best possible transmission of voice and data traffic over a single high speed Ethernet connection.

This product is now available in all of Zayo Enterprise Networks’ service areas including: Minnesota, Memphis, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Colorado and Washington state. For more information, visit www.zayo.com, or view the Metro Ethernet Transport page at www.zayo.com/ethernet-services.
